Novotel Century
- Location: Hong Kong
- Loyalty Program: Le Club Accor Hotels
- Room Type: Standard Room
Intro
At check-in I was immediately greeted as a Platinum member. I didn’t get an upgrade to the club floor but wasn’t too fussed, given how little time we were going to be spending here.
I was handed this letter and a couple of free drink coupons, alongside the keys to our room.
We didn’t get a chance to partake in the Afternoon tea or cocktails and actually ended up giving away the free drinks coupons. However, all of these perks are pretty good to have in a Novotel. Usually anything short of a Sofitel in Europe doesn’t get you much in the way of Accor platinum recognition.
Room
There was also a small selection of welcome amenities in the room. I wasn’t quick enough to snap a pic before Kamara started destroying the cookies!
Although the room was perfectly adequate, I’m not going to lie, it was tough going from the Park Hyatt Sydney to this:
Premier Lounge & Breakfast
One rule that holds true in most hotels is that the club lounge breakfast, whilst more exclusive and quiet, lacks the variety of options available in the restaurant.
Here though, the club lounge was not only clean, modern and tranquil, it also had a fantastic selection of hot and cold breakfast options.
After breakfast I headed down to the excellent gym. I love when a hotel has a full sized fitness facility rather than a small afterthought room. The Novotel definitely falls into the fitness facility camp.

Conclusion
As an Accor platinum, a stay here offers fantastic value. If you ask nicely and capacity permits, I’m sure you’ll get one of the modern club rooms too. Even with the basic room, the club lounge and gym definitely make this a hotel I’d return to if I didn’t want to splash out on a luxury hotel.
