There’s a fantastic deal available on the Iberia website at the moment, for flights on Iberia and BA.
Madrid to Dubai in Premium economy for £310
This fare will be particularly great for those of us looking to maintain AA status, as Premium Economy on IB/BA earns 1.5x EQMs
It looks very doable for a long weekend, as you’d only need to take Thursday afternoon and Friday off work if starting from London:
Getting from London to Madrid can be done for £90 cash or 6,500 Avios plus £17.50 on BA. (plus you have a high chance of getting a 787 if you’re looking to connect with the flight times above!)
The return part of the trip involves flying straight from Dubai to London and then changing airports to get back to Madrid. Of course, some people might get lost between airports and end up stuck in London ?
One of the best uses of Avios is upgrading Premium Economy seats to Business.
- LHR-DXB can be done for 24k Avios plus taxes.
- Availability tends to be very good to the Middle East, as there is so much competition and capacity on these routes.
- In order to upgrade BA Premium Economy to Business Class you’ll need to book on BA flight numbers. If you can’t find the BA flight numbers via Iberia you should try booking through an online travel agency such as Expedia (the prices are quite a lot higher via BA.com)
