After an enjoyable visit to the First Class section of The Wing, we headed to the crossroads and on to the Business Class section of the lounge. Our first stop was the coffee bar.

A perfect macchiato

The Wing HKG- coffee bar seating area

Whilst the wire seats didn’t look too ergonomic, this would be a nice place to spend some time if you get one of the comfy chairs. The best aspect of the coffee bar has to be the huge amount of natural light flooding the room. The views of the tarmac and mountains are fantastic.

Our final stop was the Noodle Bar to try the legendary Dan Dan mien.

I really like the decor here, the black marble, wood and bamboo complement each other nicely. I’m also a fan of the large open kitchen.

After placing our order we were given a buzzer which lit up within a couple of minutes, indicating that our food was ready.

The char-siu pork bun was good. I’ve got to say though, the Dan Dan mien were not great. If you want to approximate the flavour:

1. Open one pack of instant ramen.
2. Pour over hot water and add the packet of flavouring.
3. Stir in one tablespoon of peanut butter.
4. Top with scallions.

With just over an hour to go until boarding we made our way out of The Wing via the F lounge.

Fun fact: the Solus chairs at HKG don’t have the perspex screens around the top because of the positioning of the sprinkler systems at HKG.

Given that it was right by our gate, we figured we’d check out the new Qantas lounge before boarding our flight.
