The main service was chaotic, no doubt about it. However, the dine on demand really came into its own when I wanted to set my own schedule and here, much like at the bar, the service was sincere, friendly and professional.

Given that we were arriving late into Sydney I decided to look for somewhere close to the Park Hyatt, where we'd be spending the following four nights, without breaking the bank.
Sydney is an interesting city for hotels, the area around the Opera House has a number of options around the 350AUD mark: a Four Seasons - which many say is the worst in the entire portfolio; an Intercontinental - which has a Club Lounge that is widely praised but also has some very basic looking rooms and the hotel I decided on: The Shangri-La.

With that we were told, "I'm pleased to inform you that as a loyal returning guest, we were able to upgrade you to an Opera Deluxe Room for your stay, even though we are at 100% occupancy." It must be fun to give that kind of news and see people's reactions on a daily basis. This is the magnificent room that awaited us:

The views of the planes, the barista made coffee and the healthy food options mean I would make an effort to arrive half an hour early to relax and refresh ahead of boarding my flight.
