REVIEW – Rosewood Hong Kong

If you're only in town for a day or two, especially if this is your first visit, then perhaps you'd be better served by a property that has less to offer. Honestly a key 'problem' that we faced here is that we had to really drag ourselves away to explore the city. Any moment spent outside of the hotel seemed like a waste because being on property is just that good.

REVIEW – Belmond Hiram Bingham Train (Machu Picchu)

Belmond's Hiram Bingham is a beautifully restored and maintained train, which truly immersed us in the golden age of rail travel. There is no question that the overall experience is very luxurious and that it is the ideal way to circumvent some of the more onerous government regulation, that makes visiting the citadel of Machu Picchu so complicated.

REVIEW – Joali Being, Maldives

REVIEW – Four Seasons Geneva (Hotel des Bergues)

Four Seasons Geneva really surprised me. I had been expecting a rather stuffy and old fashioned hotel, the antithesis to the sleek and modern Four Seasons Bangkok. REVIEW – Virgin Atlantic : Upper Class – A340 – LHR to NRT

After months of waiting, the day of my first ever flight in Virgin Upper Class had arrived! Wanting to maximise my time in the clubhouse I booked a taxi for 8am. Despite some pretty bad traffic, we pulled up to the gate of the UC wing at around 9:45, plenty of time to enjoy the facilities before the 1:45pm flight... only to be told that there was a technical issue with the barrier.

REVIEW – Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, London Heathrow T3

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I have mixed feelings about Virgin Atlantic. They have a general air of fun and excitement about their product but it can sometimes fail to deliver. The ground experience in J is as good or better than in F for most airlines. The catering can run the gamut from horrible to pretty damn good.

REVIEW – JAL Business Lounge, Narita Airport

At NRT we were able to use the superb JAL Business Class lounge. Having previously spent time in the ANA First Class lounge, I can unequivocally state that the JAL lounge utterly destroys it. From the moment you see the Gold lettering on the grey slate wall, the JAL lounge's elegance is readily apparent.
