Superb room hardware and the game viewing was as private and wild as you could possibly hope for. For the majority of our time on the game drives, it felt like we were at one with nature, totally disconnected from other human beings and the outside world.
After our quick tour of the runway we pulled up at the seaplane terminal, where several of the high-end resorts host their guests in private lounges. Judging by what I've seen online, the Conrad has one of the most extensive facilities, with enviable views of the water below.
The seaplane dock at MLE takes the whole holiday airport concept to another level!
Everywhere you look there are excited people smiling, laughing and taking pictures. Everybody is dressed for the sunny weather, including the pilots and ground crews who sport a uniform of flip flops and shorts alongside their short sleeved shirts.
The dinner buffet seems like one last desperate attempt by the Conrad to extract cash from people for something that really isn't worth the money. It' a shame that the hotel has decided to leave customers with this as their parting memory.
