REVIEW – Mandarin Oriental Barcelona

I don't think there's any doubting that this is the best hotel in Barcelona but the value proposition is a little hard to justify, particularly when rooms at the newly refurbished Intercontinental are 1/3 of the price or less.

REVIEW – Amanpuri (Phuket, Thailand)

Overall it is hard to deny that Amanpuri is the best resort in Phuket. This is manifestly clear. However the leap in price between Amanpuri and its very close peers means that the resort will continue to work to prove itself....a fact for which I am deeply thankful.

REVIEW – Four Seasons Dubai at Jumeirah Beach

My main takeaway with this property is that it looks and feels so much better in person that the pictures on the Four Seasons website would imply. It is also a hell of a lot busier than I would have imagined. There's a real scene here, even during COVID. For some people that may be off putting but if you enjoy the buzz of having various bars and restaurants right on your doorstep then this is the hotel for you.

REVIEW – Four Seasons Johannesburg, The Westcliff

The Four Seasons Joburg is truly a Four Seasons property when it comes to the service and hardware, even if the lower room rates commended in Africa may lead you to believe otherwise. The property is more resort than hotel and is the perfect place to spend a couple of nights before or after a safari in Kruger or the Sabi Sand.
