REVIEW – Thai Airways : First Class – London to Bangkok (B747)

One of the big advantages to the old F cabin, is the amount you can see during take-off and landing. When we finished taxiing and the engines revved up for take-off, the feeling was exhilarating. Seeing the world rushing past, through 15 or more windows, gave me the impression that I myself was flying. As opposed to the usual feeling of just being along for the ride, in a metal tube. A Tale of Two Islands – SQ Suites, TG F/J – Conrad Koh Samui and Wreck Diving

It turned out that we could connect onward to MNL from SIN in First Class with a very comfortable connection time, at no extra mileage cost. This is the longest free First Class connection route ex-Europe on Singapore Air.

REVIEW – Cathay Pacific : First Class – Tokyo Haneda to Hong Kong (B747)

Spectacular. So, so, so good. We had the entire nose of a 747 to ourselves, the food and drink is probably the best of any CX route and the service was perfect. Friendly, slightly mischievous and wonderfully paced. I honestly struggle to find fault with anything that took place here.

REVIEW – Cathay Pacific : First Class – Tokyo Haneda to Hong Kong (B747) – [twice in a month!]

There is something truly magical about that moment when the meals are finished and quiet reigns, when there is nothing in front of you but the nose of the plane and the ocean below. Sure, the overall experience suffered a bit from having more people onboard but I am happy to see that the demand is there for CX to continue offering First Class on this route.
