Intercontinental is a weird hotel brand. It is so inconsistent from one location to the next that it's impossible to pin down what exactly the brand stands for and what one can reasonably expect when selecting an Intercontinental hotel.

The star of the show is clearly the in-flight hardware. With all aisle access, Bose headphones, modern IFE and comfortable bedding, AA is onto a real winner.
The negatives for me were the horrible service and very average food.
I compared like-for-like. Business class on the 777 with the two joint venture partners that fly the London to New York route.The result was highly damning for BA. The experience on AA was better in just about every way imaginable.
